Julio is gay

Julio is gay, in case you didn't notice, because of his manly beard.
And angriness
Although, it doesn't really matter for the webcomic. Then  why put a gay character? Well diversity and because I'm from Guadalajara. Let me explain.

Guadalajara has the fame for being "Mexico's gay capital"  I don't think there are more gay people in my city, but it's a open community.
With tacos of their own

However, Guadalajara also has many religious fanatics and discriminatory people. With a governor saying that the idea of a gay marriage “Gross him out”.

But the world is that way, Guadalajara is that way. And Fausto lives there. To give more diversity and keep a realistic feel, Julio is gay, but it's more important that he's a liberal journalist and he is angry almost always.

Just crime

Most of webcomics have fantasy or science fiction elements, like furries fighting space vampires. So what's the pitch for my webcomic? Just about crime, well…kinda.
Fausto takes a client, investigates, and solves the case sometimes it doesn’t end well for the client or for Fausto.
There is corruption, sex, drugs and evil people, but it's not all grim and gritty. It has a love story, and friendships and a long story arc with Fausto…and mutant ant will never appear.

Influences from TV: The Good Wife

Everything that has influenced my webcomic Detective Fausto

The Good Wife is one of the best network shows right now.
The show is a mix of law procedural, political intrigue, romance and of course detective work.

Other tv shows, portray Private Investigators as lonely individuals, struggling to pay rent, but they never sold out. The Good Wife tells the corporative side od private investigators.
Kalinda Sharma is the in house private eye. She investigates what her bosses tell her too, she’s charismatic, she is a good liar, and she knows the law and how to bend the rules. She helps to win cases, and she gets pay very well for it.
In this tv show we also see a P.I. working for the D.A. office, a crook Investigator working for high profile criminals, and blond who just works for large corporations.

Fausto's jacket

Like some of you have noticed, Fausto has a new jacket.
In “Blackmail” we see him wearing a brownish jacket and his black cap. I didn’t like the combination.
So I changed it. Now Fausto wears a black leather jacket.
At first, I didn’t want to give him a black jacket, because of the similarities with Pedro, from my other comic “hOSTIL”

But, whatever, from now on, whenever you see Fausto wear his black jacket and/or his black cap, you’ll know he is in a mission.

Even the plushie version.
